Our clients appreciate the relaxed manner in which we serve them. After all, we’ve become their friends, trusted advisors and coordinators of their financial lives. We know their accountants, attorneys and insurance agents. We know when their children are born, graduate college and marry. We’re there through the rough times, too.

However, when it comes to doing what we do best – helping you plan for a vibrant financial future – we’re all business. That’s why we created the Dashboard Wealth Management Process – an orderly step-by-step process we’ll follow together to address your goals, needs and the strategies we’ll employ to help you fulfill them.

It also allows us to work with your other professional advisors to help ensure your financial plan is truly comprehensive in scope and in depth.

Identify your goals
It all begins here, with a conversation we’ll have with you to find out what your goals actually are. This all-important step helps develop a clear picture of what you hope to accomplish. Once we know where you’d like to go, we can create the road map to help get you there.

Formally define your idea of financial independence
In this step, we begin to build a financial framework that will support your goals. We like to refer to this as calculating your “number.” To create your number, we’ll look at your current spend rate and what your spend rate will be in retirement. This gives you an idea of how much your retirement will cost so we can plan accordingly. It’s only after we have the cost of retirement that we can determine a portfolio value that will support the spend rate. Your number, then, is the required asset base necessary to support your desired lifestyle. If you so choose, it’s your opportunity to say that today, “I work out of desire, NOT necessity.”

Develop your investment management strategy
We’ll help you design, implement and continually monitor a specific investment strategy relative to your required income stream in retirement. Working with you, we’ll act as your own personal “pension board” to help you create and implement an investment policy statement (IPS) that will be designed to help with the consistency and stability of your retirement income by providing specific and tailored rules for the investments in your portfolio. Only after we have ensured consistent retirement income do we outline other parts of your portfolio to meet your multigenerational wealth goals.

Identify risk and appropriate insurance
We take a critical and exhaustive look at your potential exposure and help you take appropriate steps to mitigate it. We often refer to this simply as “making sure nothing can derail the train.”

Plan appropriate tax strategies
Being a registered CPA,* we have the enhanced ability to work with your CPA in planning a comprehensive tax strategy. We work closely with your CPA to help ensure all available tax planning strategies are used, no matter if you are a business owner, independent contractor, salaried employee or retired.

*CPA services are not provided by Raymond James or its advisors.

Perform estate planning
To put this final piece of the puzzle in place, we’ll work closely with your estate planning attorney to help ensure your family’s wealth makes its way to whom you want, when you want, and how you want in the most efficient and tax-effective way possible.

There is no assurance that any investment strategy will be successful. Investing involves risk and investors may incur a profit or a loss. Asset allocation and diversification do not ensure a profit or protect against a loss. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
